Submit as many different kinds of letters as you like. We are looking for cover letters targeted for job postings, recruiters, and companies. Other submissions may include documents like networking and marketing letters, thank-you letters, confirmation letters, follow-up letters, and other job search letters. There is no limit to the number of submissions per CPC member in this category.
BEST CANADIAN JOB SEARCH
Call for Job Search Case Studies: Submit your “best” case studies for Canadians who are searching for jobs. You can write about topics such as unusual interview situations, targeted networking, creative job search strategies, and personal branding. Case studies should be submitted in interesting, narrative, conversational format. You may submit as many case studies as you like. Make sure that you “Canadianize” your content (see below). There should be no more than 500 words per case study submitted. There is no limit to the number of submissions per CPC member in this category.
Call for Interview Questions and Strategies: Submit your “best” interview questions and answers addressing common and/or tough Canadian interview questions. Each entry should include the interview question, the employer’s reason for asking the question (purpose), the strategy that a candidate should use to respond, and a sample answer to the question. You may submit as many interview questions (with purpose, strategy, and example) as you like. Make sure you “Canadianize” your content. There should be no more than 500 words per submission. There is no limit to the number of submissions per CPC member in this category.
Fictionalize and "Canadianize" Your Content
All submissions must be fictionalized and previously unpublished. Change all names, addresses, contact information, company names, and any other information that might identify the individual. Ensure you use real-sounding Canadian names and addresses. A simple technique for telephone numbers is to use an actual area code followed by 555 and a run of numbers (e.g. 905.555.1234). Similarly, for email addresses, you can employ a standard artificial extension like @cpc.ca or @careerprocanada.ca. For your protection, it is recommended that you receive written approval for publication directly from your client before submitting the document.
Formatting Guidelines
Make certain your formatting is immaculate. Employ the guidelines below:
- Create your documents in black and white or greyscale.
- Follow principles and guidelines outlined in the CRS, CIS, and CCS certification guides.
Carefully Proofread Your Content
Write in Canadian English. All spelling and grammar must be without error. Carefully review your submission and insert hyphens between compound adjectives. Proofread, proofread, and proofread. We cannot accept any punctuation errors, irregularities, or inconsistencies.
Format for Saving Your Files
Please be sure to save your documents using the following identification format:
Book_YourName_ClientName (as fictionalized).
Here are some examples of the file name format:
Resume_TammyJones_JohnSmith.doc
Cover_TammyJones_JaneSmith.doc
JobSearch_TammyJones.doc
Interview_TammyJones.doc
Emailing Guidelines
All submissions must be provided to Info@CareerProCanada.ca via email in Microsoft Word (.doc, .docx) format. In the body of your email, please list all attachments and briefly explain your client’s target, challenges, and strategy used.
